On the occasion of the Fallas festivities, between 8 and 19 March, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) will reopen to pedestrian traffic part of Alicante Street, next to the North Station of Valencia.
This street, affected by the works being carried out to build the underpass between Alacant and Xàtiva stations of Metrovalencia, will allow decongesting the access to the mascletá from Ruzafa and the surroundings of the Xàtiva metro station.
But it will be only temporary. From March 20, it will be closed again to pedestrians to resume the works that at the end of the year should allow transit through this new connection with the metro line 10 at the Alacant stop.
This year the images selected to cover the enclosure that prevents the passage to the work zone are a composition of the official posters of Fallas, from 1929 to 2024, which are displayed in large size, along about 150 meters.
The subway connection that connects these two stations is part of the new Metrovalencia 2023-2030 network expansion plan announced by the Generalitat Valencia.
The planned investment in this action exceeds 24 million euros and will result in a tunnel 260 meters long to connect Xàtiva with Alacant.
