“Bon día, el servici de metro torna a circular de nou” (“Good morning, the metro service is running again”). With this message Metrovalencia has communicated through its X profile -formerly Twitter- that it is back in service after the damages suffered due to the DANA of last October 29.
It is being a gradual process, but this Tuesday December 3 has recovered much of the Metrovalencia network. Specifically 80%, which affects 240,000 users, as stated to the media by Carlos Mazón, president of the Generalitat.
The recovery of the service in its entirety is expected in a few days, after the December long weekend. Until that happens, at least 13 of the 25 buses that had been enabled by the DANA will be redirected to cover the stretches that are still without metro.
What is the situation of the Metrovalencia lines?
- Lines L3, L5 and L9 are operational along their entire route.
- Lines L1, L2 and L7 are partially operative (due to flooding in the case of València Sud-Castelló and due to works in Fuente del Jarro in the case of Paterna-Llíria).
In this link you can consult the timetables and services and in this other a provisional map with the bus, streetcar and Metrovalencia lines that are in operation. It will be updated as new services become operational.
The counterpoint to this news is the delays experienced by the users of the service and which have been recorded, for example, in the social networks of À punt.
There they point out that the frequency of trains are much lower than those stated by Vicente Martínez Mus, Minister of Infrastructure: they say that their passage is every 10 or 20 minutes and even a maximum of three trains per hour.
