Valencia and the Port Authority of Valencia will carry out an integral rehabilitation of the Marina of the port that will modify the surroundings of the Clock Building, the Elevated Promenade of La Marina and the Customs Wharf.
The mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, and the president of the Port Authority of Valencia, Mar Chao, have held this Wednesday the first meeting of the Interadministrative Cooperation Body created by the Port Authority of Valencia and the City Council of Valencia for the management of the spaces located in the old dock of the Port of Valencia.
What will the new Valencia Marina be like?
The three projects presented focus on the rehabilitation and landscape integration of the environment, and are scheduled to begin to see the light from 2027, once the first tenders and public tenders have been processed.
n the surroundings of the Clock Building, the intervention will cover the space between this building and the Old Maritime Station. The works include the improvement of pavements, landscaping and lighting, guaranteeing at all times adequate accessibility to the area. The Port has already awarded the drafting of the project, with an estimated investment of 1.85 million euros.
On the other hand, the Paseo Elevado de La Marina requires significant rehabilitation due to its exposure to the marine environment and the wear and tear caused by time.
The intervention will include the structural restoration of the promenade, the renovation of the lighting system, the improvement of pavements, the optimization of accessibility and safety for pedestrians, as well as the installation of shaded areas and new street furniture. This project has a budget of approximately 5 million euros, financed by the APV.
Finally, serious deterioration has been identified in the Muelle de la Aduana, for which an intervention is planned with an investment of more than 7 million euros, which will be assumed by Valenciaport.
