For centuries and millennia, sailing ships, rowing boats, schooners and galleots made of wood sailed the seas. One of them, the Nao Victoria, was the first to sail around the world, one of the greatest nautical feats of all time.
The Spanish ship stopped sailing centuries ago, but in 1992 a historically accurate replica was built. The new Nao Victoria belongs to a foundation dedicated to historical-maritime divulgation and has been docked in the Port of Valencia for only two days.
For this reason, and so that Valencians know the history of this Spanish ship that captained by Juan Sebastian Elcano and Ferdinand Magellan sailed around the world in 1519, can be visited until October 20.
During the visit through the three decks, visitors will be able to discover what it was like at the time and the historical-social context in which this ship crossed the 7 seas.
The tour is self-guided, that is, information panels will be installed in the different areas of the sailing ship. In addition, different areas of the ship will have a period atmosphere and visitors will be able to meet and talk to the crew, sailors who live as they did five centuries ago.
A perfect plan to do this weekend in Valencia with children, family or friends.
