The Nam Prik Thai restaurant, located at 10 Reina Doña Germana Street in Valencia’s Ensanche district, is the only establishment in the city to hold the Thai Select seal, a certification issued by the Royal Thai Government’s Ministry of Commerce to guarantee the authenticity of Thai cuisine outside the country.
The Thai Select program distinguishes between two categories: ready-to-eat or ready-to-cook products, sold in import stores or supermarkets, and restaurants. Nam Prik Thai has earned recognition in this second category, placing it among a select group of establishments worldwide that meet the authenticity criteria required by Thai authorities.
In Spain, there are a total of 28 Thai restaurants with this certification.
The Thai cuisine of Nam Prik Thai

In the kitchen are Nep and Nook, two chefs originally from Thailand with experience at various restaurants in Valencia. Among the menu’s specialties are Kao Soi —noodles in coconut milk with meat and spices— Som Tam —a traditional green papaya salad—and the house dessert, Roti, a type of crepe served with chocolate ice cream and fruit.
The project was created by Chinda and Hans, founders of the Thai supermarket Dawfood, which has a physical store at 14 San Francisco de Borja Street. The idea for the restaurant emerged from their experience importing ingredients from Thailand.
Nam Prik Thai features an outdoor terrace with seating for 20 people during the spring and summer months.
The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner; on Fridays and Saturdays, it extends its evening hours until 11:30 p.m., and on Sundays, the kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m.
