Following Monday’s event, Valencia’s City Hall Square will once again host a mascletá next Sunday, June 7, as the main event of the Corpus Christi holiday.
The company Pirotecnia Alt Palància will set off this fireworks display at 2:00 p.m., following the Cavalcada del Convit, which will take place on Sunday morning.
The official events marking the 700th anniversary of the Festa Grossa will begin in the morning at 10:00 a.m. with a pontifical mass at the Cathedral of Valencia.
Later, at 12:00 p.m., the Cavalcada del Convit will begin its procession. During this event, the Chaplain of Las Rocas will issue the formal invitation to the festival during a parade featuring displays of traditional Corpus Christi dances and the passage of the Degolla troupe.
Following the mascletá, the program will continue in the afternoon with the departure of the monumental Rocas, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and with the Solemn Procession, which will wind through the streets of the historic center carrying Spain’s largest monstrance starting at 7:00 p.m.
