Few smells make you happier than the smell of freshly made pizza, and that’s what Valencia will smell like this coming weekend. From May 23 to 25, the Valencian capital will host the Mahou Pizzas Fest, the largest festival dedicated to pizza in Spain.
The Plaça de l’Aigua (Tinglado 2, La Marina de Valencia) will bring together 10 of the best pizzerias in Valencia in a competition for the title of the best pizza in the city. Among the pizzerias participating in the competition will be Il Cammino dei Briganti, Pummarey, A’Napule, Pizzallenya, Casa d’Aragona, Italeña, Il Cortile, Del Poble, El Cantó del Bon Gust and Mamma Pazzo, which will present two proposals: a classic pizza and a gourmet creation specially designed for the festival.
In addition to tasting all the pizzas in situ, the public will be able to participate in workshops, showcookings, Mahou beer tastings, live music, raffles and activities for all ages, such as the customization of pizza boxes or a musical bingo.
The festival will reward the best pizzas with two awards: one chosen by popular vote and another decided by a professional jury led by renowned influencers from the gastronomic world such as Edu González (Bravas Barcelona) and David from @boufit_fatfood.
Access to the Mahou Pizzas Fest is free with limited capacity, and tickets must be previously downloaded from the Pizzas Fest website.
There is one type of ticket, the Menu, which guarantees access and includes a pizza (whole or slice), a drink and a reusable glass. Prices range from 7.75 euros for a classic slice to 29.50 euros for a whole gourmet pizza with two drinks (for two people).
The Mahou Pizzas Fest will be held on the following schedule:
- Friday, May 23: from 18:00 to 24:00.
- Saturday, May 24: from 12:00 to 24:00.
- Sunday, May 25: from 12:00 to 22:00.
