Now you can visit at the Centro del Carmen de Cultura Contemporánea (CCCC) the retrospective exhibition of the Valencian sculptor and illustrator José Santaeulalia, designer of the falla of the City Hall 2025.
Free of charge and until May 4, the exhibition reviews the artist’s career through sketches, sculptures, models and ninots of falla, with special attention to the creative process of the municipal falla “Fauna fallera” that will be planted this year in the Town Hall Square.
This activity is undoubtedly one of the essential family plans in Valencia during the coming weekends and resumes the usual tradition of this museum to dedicate its space to the fallero artist who plants in the Town Hall Square, as in previous years.
About the exhibition Santaeulalia
With over 25 years of experience, Santaeulalia has the support of up to eight first prizes in the Special Section.
The exhibition dedicated to José Santaeulalia puts the focus on his entire creative process, which has run parallel to his work as a sculptor in the workshops of the renowned porcelain firm Lladró, based in Valencia.
Through more than 180 pieces and unpublished sketches, the exhibition makes a journey through his professional career through a careful selection of scripts, porcelain figures, ninots, models of falla and even banners of first prizes, complemented with audiovisual projections of animation.
Many of the drawings on display correspond to the sketches he has developed with his brother, Pedro Santaeulalia, for the creation of fallas awarded with the first prize in the Special Section, where you can appreciate the evolution of the design from its initial conception.
Likewise, the exhibition dedicates a prominent space to this year’s municipal falla, ‘Fauna fallera’, an original design by José Santaeulalia carried out by the artists Alejandro Santaeulalia and Vicente Llácer.
The CCCC is located at Calle Museo, 2. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and admission is always free.
