Although the rain does not give a break, the Fallas 2025 will live a key moment this coming Friday March 7 with the lighting of the streets competing in category A for best Fallas lighting.
The illuminated streets contest will have its official lighting at 8 pm in the 6 participating commissions. And yes, this 2025 will be 6, two more than in 2024 by the incorporation of two new casales: Reino de València-San Valero and Duque de Gaeta-Pobla de Farnals.
These two newcomers will share category with Cuba-Puerto Rico, the big winner of the last years, Sueca-Literato Azorín, Cuba-Literato Azorín and Malvarrosa-Antonio Ponz-Cavite.
The latter will be the only one that will have a daily light and music show, prior to the illumination. The streets located in the Ruzafa neighborhood will not be illuminated with a previous show, to avoid crowds at peak hours.
Where are the best illuminated streets in Valencia?
It is worth remembering that the name of these category A fallas makes the task of finding them quite simple, especially if it is your first time in the Fallas. Usually, as in this case, the fallas are named after the crossroads of the streets where they are located, so you can’t get lost.
In addition to the queen category, in Category B, 26 fallas commissions from different neighborhoods such as Camins al Grau, Malvarrosa, Zaidía, Quatre Carreres, Patraix and Pla del Remei have already started with the lighting since last Wednesday, March 5.
When will the winner of the best lighting falla be announced?
The jury will announce the winner of category A for best illuminated street of the Fallas 2025 after the night visit. It is expected to be announced during the early hours of Saturday, March 8.
