Did you know that the province of Valencia is home to the largest monumental nativity scene in Spain? As every year, from this Friday December 5 Xàtiva will transform its streets to host what is possibly the biggest tourist attraction of the town at this time.
Until January 6, 2026, the capital of La Costera will host a special Christmas program where, in addition to the nativity scene, there will be exhibitions, Christmas market, and a fun fair.
The monumental nativity scene of Xàtiva: visit it for free
It is the main protagonist. Located in the Albereda de Jaume I, this nativity scene occupies about 1,600 square meters and recreates numerous scenes with life-size figures made by Fallas artists.
In addition, the enclosure maintains its sustainable essence with the use of recycled materials, fresh fruits and vegetables (which are then donated) and the presence of live animals under strict veterinary control.
Visiting hours are as follows, from December 5 to January 6.
- Hours: From 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
- December 24 and 31: Closing at 19:00 hours.
- January 5: Closing at 18:00 hours.
Admission is always free.
In addition, for those who love nativity scenes, Xàtiva offers two other obligatory stops: the traditional betlem Panoràmic, in C/ Abad Pla, 7, from December 13 to January 6; and the monumental Hebrew betlem in the church of Sant Francesc, from December 15 to January 6.
Christmas market and gastronomy in Xàtiva
In the Jardí de José Espejo (Glorieta), next to the Nativity Scene, is the Mercat de Nadal (Christmas Market). A place to buy handicrafts and enjoy the gastronomy in the food trucks area. Attention: unlike the nativity scene, the market ends before Epiphany.
Until December 31, from 11 am to 11 pm every day, except December 24 and 31, which will close at 7 pm.
Playmobil exhibition and the route of the nativity scenes
The cultural offer will include, on the one hand, the great Playmobil exhibition in the space of Sant Domènec, organized by Clicks Girona, with 11 dioramas.
The schedule, from 10 to 14 and 17 to 20 hours. Free admission, but closed on 24 and 31 December.
Fair of Attractions of Xàtiva: 3 days at popular prices
The fair of attractions will be installed in the Avinguda de Selgas from December 5 to January 6. For this edition there are 3 days marked in red: December 19 and 23, and January 2, all attractions with a maximum price of 2.50 euros.
