The Regional Government has approved an extension until December 31, 2026 , of the discounts on public transportation services under regional jurisdiction (Metrovalencia, SUMA card, Metrobús), under the same conditions set forth in Decree-Law 9/2025 of June 25.
The measure continues a discount policy implemented to mitigate the economic impact of inflation on public transit users and promote sustainable mobility.
Prior to the decree, the current discounts were set to expire on June 30, 2026.
Who benefits and by how much
The extension maintains three categories of beneficiaries. First, completely free transportation for children up to and including age 14.
Second, a 50% discount on passes for young people under 31 years of age.
Third, a minimum 40% discount on general-use monthly passes and multi-trip tickets. The Generalitat contributes 20% on top of the subsidy framework established by the national government for 2026.
In addition, free passes are being extended for residents registered in certain municipalities affected by the October 2024 storm. These passes will continue to be distributed at city halls in the affected areas and may be used until December 31, 2026.
Which networks and systems are included
The discounts will apply to passes and multi-trip tickets issued by the Autoritat de Transport Metropolità de València (ATMV), the TAM system in Alicante, the Plana metropolitan transit system in Castellón, and the Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant networks.
Zonal combinations of Renfe’s Cercanías commuter rail services that include Zone D are excluded from these discounts.
