The city of Valencia will host from September 16 to 22 the European Mobility Week 2025, a 7-day program designed to promote sustainable transport through recreational activities, a big party in the Jardines de Viveros, open days and free public transport.
Although it will be the culmination and end of the party, on Monday, September 22, on the occasion of the World Car Free Day, EMT buses will be free for the whole day. It is expected that Valencia’s metro and streetcar will also join this initiative, as in other years.
European Mobility Week 2025: full program

The previous weekend will concentrate the most outstanding event of the program: “La Gran Fiesta de la Movilidad” (The Great Mobility Party). On Saturday 20, in the Jardines de Viveros, throughout the day there will be workshops, face painting, raffles, a video game area and yoga sessions for families.
On Sunday 21, at the same time, there will be a family gymkhana on the Paseo de la Alameda, which will be closed to traffic in the direction of the port between the Puente del Real and the Puente de la Exposición.
The program will also include two main competitions that will take place throughout the week. The first is the “SEM Steps Challenge”, which invites citizens to walk through the city from September 16 to 22.
The second is a photo contest on Instagram with the slogan “Move without a car!”, in which participants can win an electric bicycle.
To compete, they must upload a photo to their Instagram stories showing how they move in a sustainable way and tag the accounts @erntvalencia, @vicmobilitat and @valenbisioficial.
The activities will also be spread throughout different neighborhoods of the city. During the mornings, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, there will be family events with music, storytelling, puppets and magic in locations such as Plaza de Segovia (Tuesday 16), Parque del Oeste ( Thursday 16) and Parque Orriols (Friday 19), among others.
In the afternoons, from 17:00 to 20:00 h, performances by Mago Barral and a tournament of the video game Brawl Stars have been scheduled at points such as the Cabanyal Market ( Wednesday 17), the Central Park ( Thursday 18) and the Plaza de Patraix (Monday 22).
In addition, there will be guided tours that require prior registration. Citizens will be able to know the Traffic Management Center of the City Hall or the central offices of the EMT Valencia.
The Local Police will also organize open days at the road safety education circuit in the Jardines de Viveros during the weekend.
The program will be completed with the “Metrominuto Challenge” on the 16th and 17th and a technical conference for professionals of the sector on Friday 19th at the Valencia Innovation Capital center.
