The railway infrastructure of the Valencian Community will undergo a drastic change in just 2 years. 2027 is the date set by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility for the arrival of the high-speed line between Castellón, Valencia and Alicante.
As Minister Óscar Puente announced last Friday, the high-speed line continues to advance with important improvements in its connections. This year, the second mixed gauge track between Valencia and Castellón will be completed, which will improve the capacity of the line.
On the other hand, in Alicante, works have already been awarded for the construction of six new international gauge tracks. These infrastructures will be ready by mid-2026, allowing the station to be adapted to high-speed trains with greater efficiency and capacity.
In line with these advances, it has been confirmed that in 2027 the regional AVE service connecting the three capitals of the Comunitat Valenciana: Alicante, Valencia and Castellón will start operating.
This regional AVE will have stops in Xàtiva, Villena, Oriola, Elx and Sagunt.
