Valencia will say goodbye this Tuesday March 19 of a record edition of the Fallas in visitor and impact, which will live with the cremà the closing of a chapter, that of 2024, and the opening of a new one for next year.
From 20 hours is scheduled the successive burning of more than 300 children’s monuments and as many large ones in the 19 districts of Valencia. Each Valencian man and woman traditionally chooses for the cremà the monument of their street, or the one that has inspired them the most during these 4 days of celebration since the plantà.
However, the official program of events of the Fallas 2024 details all the information about schedules and order of lighting of the most important monuments of Valencia.
Schedule of the Cremà 2024 in Valencia
The program of fallero events highlights the following schedules, which apply to all of Valencia’s children’s and large fallas. It also details the special schedules for the winning fallas of Special Section and the municipal falla, the last to burn, as tradition dictates.
20:00 h: “Cremà” of the children’s fallas.
20:30 h: “Cremà” of the children’s falla that has obtained the first prize in the Special Section.
21:00 h: “Cremà” of the children’s falla of the Town Hall Square.
22:00 h: “Cremà” of all the fallas of Valencia.
22:30 h: “Cremà” of the falla that has won the first prize in the Special Section, on this occasion, the falla l’Antiga de Campanar.
23:00 h: “Cremà” of the Falla de la Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
The cremà of the Town Hall Square, both the children’s monument and the big one, will be preceded by two fireworks displays by Pirotecnia Mediterráneo at 21:00 and 23:00.
Special Fire Department
The City Council of Valencia, through the Municipal Fire Department, will mobilize a total of 380 firefighters and a hundred vehicles to control the combustion of a hundred fallas in the city classified as “risky” because they are located in small squares, with trees, houses or monuments nearby, or have high or complicated finishes.
In addition, about 250 Civil Protection volunteers will support the coordination of the cremà.
The Cabalgata del Fuego, as a preamble
The Cavalcade of Fire will be the prelude to the cremà and will be held on Tuesday, March 19 from 7 pm between the streets of La Paz and Puerta del Mar.
This parade will feature fire, thunder and fireworks, as well as fire beasts and other fantastic creatures of Valencian cultural heritage.
