A statement from the Valencian Regional Government itself has confirmed it: Costco is finally coming to Valencia. After several years of announcements and delays, the hypermarket chain has begun construction on the site where it plans to open by the end of 2027.
It will be located in Paterna, on the former site of a meat processing company that currently stands vacant between Kinépolis and Verdecora, next to the CV-35.
In a statement, the Regional Government explained that the president of the Regional Government, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, held a working meeting with representatives of the American supermarket chain Costco, as well as Paterna Empresarial, the owner of the land on which the American company is building this hypermarket.
It is estimated that Costco will create 250 direct jobs at this location, with the goal of opening by the end of 2027.
Costco bases its business model on the hypermarket concept, offering products in bulk for retail sale, along with a loyalty card that requires an annual fee to gain access to the hypermarket and receive discounts on purchases and fuel at its own gas stations.
