The arrival of the DANA Adam, combined with torrential rains in the southern part of the province of Valencia and the northern part of Alicante, led to a critical situation yesterday, with more than 600 liters per square meter of rainfall and significant flooding, particularly in the regions of La Safor and La Marina Alta.
The flooding and train operators’ reluctance to travel through areas still under a flood warning forced Renfe to suspend commuter rail service in the southern part of the province starting Sunday at 8:00 p.m. The affected lines were the C1 and C2, which connect Valencia with Gandia and Moixent.
However, service was restored yesterday, Monday, at 6:30 p.m., and should be operating normally today.
