The year 2026 will mark a turning point in the physiognomy of Valencia. The following are the seven key actions that will be on the municipal agenda over the next twelve months.
New image for Colón Street after Fallas

The main commercial artery of the city will undergo a comprehensive reform from the spring of 2026, once the Fallas festivities are over. With a budget of over 2.5 million euros and an execution period of five months, the intervention seeks to unify the aesthetics of the street and improve accessibility.
The transformation of Pérez Galdós y Giorgeta

2026 will be the decisive year for the remodeling of these two major avenues, whose works, which began in June 2025, are scheduled to last 14 months. This action involves an investment of 23.9 million euros to intervene on more than 2 kilometers of road.
The Turianova shopping mall

On the southern boulevard, next to Nueva Fe, construction will progress on one of the largest tertiary complexes in the city. With a total area of more than 333,000 m², this project includes an investment of more than 350 million euros.
It will have 222 stores, more than 25 restaurants and innovative leisure areas such as a wave pool and climbing wall. It will have almost 4,000 parking spaces for cars and more than 4,000 for bicycles.
The “Catedral de la Pólvora” in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Town Hall Square).

After the presentation of the “Re-natura” preliminary project in December 2025, next year will be used to process and define the details of this 11.4 million euro renovation. The design proposes a large central ellipse of 2,211 m² exclusively for the firing of mascletás, surrounded by more trees and shade.
The pavement will be unified with granite slabs from San Vicente Mártir to Marqués de Sotelo, creating a continuous boulevard.
Low Emission Zone
Although residents have a moratorium until 2028, the penalty phase for out-of-province vehicles without an environmental label (gasoline prior to 2000 and diesel prior to 2006)will be fully active throughout 2026.
A system of 278 cameras will monitor accesses to an area of 27.8 square kilometers.
Unblocking of the PAI del Grau and maritime façade.

The urban planning of the Grau, reactivated in 2025, will continue its proceedings to transform 380,000 m² of land between Nazaret and the port. Although the building works are expected to start in the medium term (24 months from July 2025), the project is essential for the green connection of the city.
A total of 3,204 new homes are planned, with a significant share of affordable rentals and public protection, with a 160,000 m² park that will extend the Turia Garden to the sea.
Sorolla Museum in Valencia

The Palacio de las Comunicaciones will house from 2026 the European headquarters of the Hispanic Society of America, which will bring to Valencia more than 200 works by the artist.
Cycle-pedestrian connection to Natzaret

In early 2026 the tender for the new green path that will connect the Penya-roja neighborhood with the Astilleros bridge is scheduled for the beginning of 2026. A 1.3-kilometer route and a new 54-meter footbridge over the riverbed, with a budget of 2 million euros.
It is estimated that the works will begin after the bidding process so that the infrastructure will be in service at the beginning of 2027.
