The navigation platforms Google Maps and Waze already show in their maps the information related to the Residential Priority Area (APR) Ciutat Vella-Nord, an update demanded by neighbors of the historic center of Valencia, and that will prevent the most clueless to access this area controlled by cameras.
This addition will allow drivers to know the access restrictions in force in this area, which is currently limited to registered residents and companies.
Users in X.com have recognized the advance, although the applications do not specify the limitations of this zone except for a large red rectangle when starting navigation to the center of Valencia and a message.
What is the Residential Priority Area (RPA) “Ciutat Vella Nord” ?
This area was originally created in November 2020 within the projects of sustainable mobility, pedestrianization, and environmental quality of the historic center of Valencia.
Since then, those wishing to access must register in advance or have an authorization granted by a resident. Residents, shopkeepers, and workers who need to access this neighborhood with their vehicles even though they do not live there can do so.
A team of cameras controls access and can process fines for infringing the regulations telematically by reading the license plate of the vehicle.
