Next Monday, April 13, is a holiday in Valencia, and the city will begin celebrating on Saturday with a fireworks display and a mascletá. The feast day of Saint Vincent Ferrer, patron saint of the people of Valencia, will feature a program of events kicking off on April 7 with the Milagros Contest, to be held at the ONCE headquarters from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On Sunday, April 12 , at 9:30 p.m., Plaça de la Crida, next to the Serranos Towers, will be illuminated by a fireworks display organized by Pirotècnia Nadal.
On Monday, April 13, the feast day, the program begins at 10:00 a.m. with the Pontifical Mass at the Cathedral of Valencia.
At 12:00 p.m., the Offering will take place, with the procession proceeding from City Hall to the saint’s birthplace.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Plaza de Tetuan will come alive with the traditional mascletà.
The day will conclude at 7:00 PM with the Procession, which will depart from the Cathedral, passing through Plaza de la Reina, Calle de la Pau, General Tovar, and Plaza de Tetuan, to the Church of Sant Doménech, Calle de la Mar, Plaza de Sant Vicent Ferrer, Trinquet de Cavallers, Plaza de Nàpols i Sicília, the Church of Sant Esteve, Edeta Street, Palau Street, and back into the Cathedral.
