The Guild of Bakers and Pastry Chefs of Valencia has announced the winners of the 39th edition of its Easter Sweets Competition. Following the contest held this Monday in Valencia, the guild has named Horno Bells—an establishment with two locations on Enric Taulet and Manuel Candela—as the maker of the best traditional Easter cake.
Meanwhile, Horno Miguel Martínez won the award for best panquemao, and Horno Vicente García took first place in the raisin and walnut cake category.

Horno San Antonio, located in San Antonio de Benagéber, has achieved a double victory by receiving the top award in both the artistic mona and commercial decoration categories.
The innovation award went to David Esteve Pastisseria for a cake that combines contemporary techniques with traditional ingredients such as arnadí.

Once the contest concluded, the organizers donated all the pastries entered in the competition to the NGO Casa Caridad Valencia, which serves people at risk of social exclusion.
