After the passage of the DANA through the Valencian Community on October 29th, thousands of people have seen their activities affected. For this reason, different state and autonomous community organizations have launched aid to alleviate the economic effects of this catastrophe on the lives of families.
Now, in addition, the Bank of Spain (BdE) will provide aid to vocational training and university students. The Executive Committee of the BdE has approved a provision of up to 150,000 euros to initiate a financial aid program for students living in the areas affected by the DANA.
In total, each beneficiary will be able to receive a total of €1,000 and the aid package will be divided between university students, who will receive 50% of the total, and vocational training students, who will receive the other half.
At the moment, the rules of the call have not yet been published, but it is expected to be in the next few days on the BdE’s website. What is known is that priority will be given to students who are already beneficiaries of the Minimum Living Income (IVM), either directly or if there is a member of their family who receives it, and academic merit will also be taken into account.
Once these applications are covered, the rest of the grants will be redistributed among the other applicants, taking into account their academic record and merit for the 2023-2024 academic year.
