The artichoke capital of the Valencian Community closes the 2025/2026 season with a big barbecue this weekend in the town center. Benicarló will celebrate the last major event of its program of popular festivals centered around this seasonal product on Saturday, February 21.
Starting at 6 p.m., the Plaça de la Constitució will be the meeting point for a popular artichoke barbecue. The coals will be lit at 7 p.m., but before that there will be a live music session and DJ.
For €4, you can buy a serving of three artichokes with a drink (wine or water), as well as a serving of bread.
Tickets are already on sale online, but they can also be purchased at the Benicarló Protected Designation of Origin tent set up in the square on Saturday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or even at the PDO office from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. from February 16 to 20.
Portions can be collected between approximately 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
