A feminist tide will once again fill the streets of Valencia this Sunday, March 8, 2026, which comes with an underlying debate: the coincidence of the Fallas program with the demonstration that will travel through the main streets of downtown Valencia.
The demonstration, organized by the Feminist Coordinator of Valencia, is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. from the Porta de la Mar square. The route will pass through Colón and Xàtiva streets, continue along Marqués de Sotelo and end at the Plaza de la Reina.
At the same time, Pirotecnia Nadal Martí will set off the last of the three nighttime mascletás scheduled for this weekend in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. As usual, since it is Sunday, this show will always be set off four hours earlier than those on Friday and Saturday. And therein lies the conflict.
The city council is negotiating a last-minute change so that both events can take place in the center of Valencia.
One solution: change the schedules

According to Las Provincias, the alternatives proposed by the local police include an adjustment to the schedule: the demonstration would start half an hour earlier and the fireworks display would be delayed by an hour, which would avoid any overlap in the city center.
The other alternative is to modify the route of the protest, a measure that requires the authorization of the Government Delegation and therefore depends on a procedure outside the City Council.
The final decision is pending agreement between the entities involved and, if applicable, the response of the Government Delegation if a change of route is chosen.
Mascletá de Reyes Martí at 2:00 p.m.

What will not change is the mascletá by Reyes Martí, scheduled for 2:00 p.m., weather permitting, which has become another tradition in the Fallas calendar with its special tribute to all women through pyrotechnics.
