The Generalitat Valenciana has launched a call for volunteers in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia this Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 am, aimed at all those who want to lend their help in the localities most affected by the DANA.
The event, organized in coordination with the Volunteer Platform, aims to “organize, transport and better segment the help of those who lend their solidarity efforts” from the new Volunteer Coordination Center that will be installed on the first floor of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum.
50 buses to transport the volunteers
The volunteers will be divided into groups that will be assigned specific tasks and instructions for action, and will then be sent to the most affected areas in 50 buses with a capacity for fifty people. In this way it is intended to coordinate a safe and orderly transfer in order to provide an effective response where they are most needed.
Carlos Mazón, President of the Generalitat Valenciana, has also asked those who want to collaborate to move on foot instead of by car, since there are places that are still inaccessible, and it is necessary to avoid traffic jams.
Boots, mask and water
In its official communiqué, the Generalitat has prepared a list of what is needed to participate in this volunteering:
– Waterproof boots or mountain footwear suitable for muddy conditions.
– Protective gloves (possible hazardous materials in affected areas).
– Mask.
– Water and food for the day.
– Cleaning material such as shovels and brooms.
