
From May 9 to 11, 2025, Valencia will celebrate the feast of the Virgen de los Desamparados, the patron saint of the city.
This 2024, the program includes, in addition to the traditional masses, fireworks, a mascletá and the long-awaited transfer on Sunday, May 11.

Program of events 2025 – Festivity of the Mare de Déu
Thursday, May 8th
- The installation of the floral tapestry on the façade of the Royal Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken begins.
Friday, May 9th
- 20:00 h: Children’s Dansà in the Plaza de la Virgen, for boys and girls from 7 to 14 years old.
- 23:00 h: Dansà for adults (from 15 years old) in the same square. You can participate in Dansà Plana (with full tableau) or Ball de Comptes (in pairs, maximum 2 per falla).
Saturday, May 10th
- 10:30 h: Mass sung by the Escolania.
- 12:00 h: Sabatina.
- 13:00 h / 17:30 h / 18:30 h: Masses for the anniversary of the Pontifical Coronation in the Basilica.
- 18:30 h: Dance of the ball groups of the towns in the Plaza de la Virgen.
- 20:00 h: Solemn Salve Solemnísima sung by the Escolania and exescolanes.
- 23:00 h: Concert by the Municipal Symphonic Band in the Plaza de la Virgen, conducted by Cristóbal Soler and Saúl Gómez.
- 23:59 h: Fireworks display in the Town Hall Square (Aitana pyrotechnics).
- After the castle: Gran Dansà and Cant d’Albaes in honor of the Virgin.
Sunday, May 11
- 05:00 h: Mass of Descoberta.
- 08:00 h: Mass d’Infants at the altar of the Plaza de la Virgen.
- 10:30 h: Transfer of the image of the Virgin.
- 11:30 / 13:00 / 17:30 / 18:30 / 19:30 h: Masses in the Basilica.
- 12:00 h: Pontifical Mass in the Cathedral.
- 14:00 h: Mascletà in the Town Hall Square.
- 17:30 h: General procession from the Cathedral.
- 18:30 h: Rest of entities starts procession along the same route.
Monday, May 12th
- The Bancaja Foundation will celebrate on Monday May 12 at 20:30 h in the Plaça de la Mare de Déu the 55th edition of the traditional concert Ronda a la Mare de Déu, with free admission until full capacity and the collaboration of the Diputació de València, CaixaBank and the City Council of Valencia.
