The Valencia Book Fair will hold its 61st edition from April 30 to May 10, 2026, at the Jardins del Real (Vivers). The event, organized by the Gremi de Llibrers de València and the Fundació Fira del Llibre, will break the attendance record set in previous editions by bringing together 105 exhibitors spread across 142 booths over 10 days.
This event, which has been held without interruption since 1966, ranks second among Spain’s book fairs in terms of sales volume and its cultural program.
International and national authors

Confirmed writers include the Franco-Moroccan author Leïla Slimani, the poet and critic Luis García Montero, the novelist Carme Riera, the Valencian scientist and writer Martí Domínguez, the journalist Núria Cadenes, the broadcaster José Luis Sastre, the writer Eva Baltasar, and the Turkish novelist Zülfü Livanelli.
The program will include book presentations, signings, lectures, roundtables, workshops for children and teens, musical performances, and contests, which can be viewed here.
The 2026 edition will pay tribute to the recently deceased Valencian poet Josep Piera. It will also honor Francesc Almela i Vives, named Writer of the Year 2026 by the Valencian Academy of Language, and will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of philosopher Umberto Eco.
Fira Awards

In 2026, the organization will present the Valencia Book Fair Awards to Carme Riera, Martí Domínguez, and Leïla Slimani. This award, which has been granted since 2019 to recognize literary careers, will include the international prize for the second consecutive year, which Slimani will receive in recognition of her work and as a sign of the event’s Mediterranean focus.

The poster for this 61st edition was commissioned from Virginia Lorente, a Valencian architect and illustrator and member of the Association of Valencian Illustration Professionals (APIV).
The Fair is supported by the Valencian Regional Government (Department of Culture), the City of Valencia, the Provincial Council of Valencia, and the Ministry of Culture and Sport through the General Directorate of Books. The Municipal Libraries of Valencia and the Department of Parks, Gardens, and Natural Spaces are also collaborating.
