The U.S. doughnut king is looking for locations in Valencia and a dozen other Spanish cities. Popular doughnut brand Krispy Kreme has announced its plans to open in Spain from 2025 with more than 500 outlets projected, and among its objectives is to open franchises in Valencia, in addition to Osadía, 14 Calle Gran Vía barcelona or Malaga.
The U.S. firm has signed an alliance with the Glaseadas Originales brand -created eight months ago and dedicated to the retail trade of bread and bakery products- to land in Spain in a big way.
After landing in France, Switzerland, Turkey or Chile during 2022, they are already present in more than 35 countries outside the United States and their next target is Spain.
Raphael Duvivier, Krispy Kreme’s Chief Development Officer, said that after “a tremendous response in Europe following our successful ticket in France and the announcement to open in Germany, we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Krispy Kreme experience to Spain.”
The locations of future openings in Spain have not yet been disclosed, but the company has announced that it will operate in franchise format, like other large global restaurant chains.
As a preview we can share that if a similar opening to the one in Paris is repeated, 1,000 donuts will be given away in the streets of Valencia. We will have to stay tuned in case it is confirmed.
