The Paterna City Council will acquire the building of the former El Pozo de la Cañada restaurant to transform it into a public space. The local government has announced that it will add this property to the municipal portfolio to provide the neighborhood with new decentralized public services.
In a video posted on social media, the mayor of the municipality, Juan Antonio Sagredo, framed this initiative within the context of the city council’s financial results. According to the mayor, the state of the local accounts will make this new real estate purchase possible.
The renovation project will divide the facilities into three functional areas. First, the adaptation of the space will create a citizen service office to streamline administrative procedures for residents of the area.
In the educational sphere, the new building will incorporate a cultural center. This space will house the future expansion of the district library and offer new study rooms.
Finally, the site’s land-use plan will set aside an area for a youth center, which will provide specific services for this segment of the population.
