Outlets of Amazon products and other online stores are proliferating throughout Spain and Valencia is the latest to join this trend. Since last week, the Gran Turia Shopping Center has had its first returns outlet online shopping: Gangazon.
With a model similar to that of other companies such as Crazy Day Alfafar its appeal lies in the mystery of buying products such as cell phones, cameras or technology at low prices. And the fact is that these businesses determine the prices of the products according to the day and not their condition or quality (although with nuances that we detail below).
It won’t cost you the same for a product on a Thursday as it will on a Friday. For example, on Thursdays everything is sold at 2 euros and on Fridays at 25 euros. Mondays at 16 euros, Tuesdays at 10 euros, Wednesdays at 7 euros, and Saturdays at 20 euros.
In addition, each customer has a limit on the amount of time and products they can purchase. At busy times, it is common for access to the store to be controlled.
“The dynamics is American style, with a digital timer that everyone sees the time remaining, and a megaphone to motivate them to hurry before the time is up,” explained from the organization.
Judging by their Instagram stories, there are customers who on the same day of the opening were able to get their hands on iPhone phones or image stabilizers for €30. Fridays is the day that stock is replenished and where the price is higher, but then the products that are not sold are accumulated throughout the week. “You may find some people find very expensive things on the same day of €2,” they detail.
The products are divided into three sections: the Zone for returns; the Zone for surprise packages, where they cannot be opened until you pay for them. In the latter, everything is worth 10 euros. And finally, the Zone with fixed discounted prices, with products tested by the company and a 15-day guarantee.
However, since its opening in January 2024, the store has introduced several changes. It does not allow returns or testing of products by customers, due to the fact that many items were previously destroyed. This decision was made following a poll on Instagram, where customers voted for lower prices without testing rather than higher prices with testing.
Gangazon has also introduced physical in-store auctions of tested products, which are held on some special days previously announced via Instagram.
In addition, a Caro product is raffled off each week for customers who have purchased more than five items on Friday at €25 each. These customers participate in a challenge the following day, and the winner takes the prize. Several iPhones and virtual reality goggles valued at €1,500 have already been given away. Each week, the type of game and the product change.
Another new option is a bull’s-eye: if you buy on any day and hit the 200 score in the middle, you get your purchase refunded.
This store is located on the first floor of the Gran Turia shopping center.
