After a night of moderate rainfall, Valencia remains on alert, although the alert level has been lowered from red to orange. Castellón and Tarragona are the provinces that have recorded the heaviest rainfall and remain at the highest alert level; however, according to meteorological services, the storm is moving southward, so public transportation agencies and companies continue to operate with the utmost caution.
Service disruptions: Renfe Commuter Trains
In this context, rail service and the Renfe Cercanías network remain suspended northbound and are gradually resuming service southbound and into the interior of the province:
- Line C2 ( Valencia–Xàtiva–Moixent): It has resumed its regular schedule and service as of 7:10 a.m.
- Line C1 ( Valencia–Gandia): Service has returned to normal since 7:42 a.m.
- Line C3 ( Valencia-Utiel): Service resumed at 7:42 a.m., but is operating with limited service that ends at the Buñol station.
- Line C6 (Valencia–Castelló): Only the section between Valencia and Sagunt is operating (as of 8:02 a.m.). Service to Castelló remains suspended due to the red alert affecting the area from Plana Baixa to Baix Maestrat.
Service disruptions: Renfe Medium- and Long-Distance Services
Renfe’s medium- and long-distance rail network (Euromed, Intercity, Alvia, and AVE) has also experienced delays and cancellations on most of its routes:
- Southern Corridor: Medium-distance trains connecting Valencia with Alicante, Albacete, and the Region of Murcia have already resumed service, although they may experience some delays.
- Northern Corridor and Catalonia: Absolutely all services (Euromed and Intercity) connecting the Valencian Community with Catalonia remain suspended until weather conditions ensure safety.
Alternative road routes have been established for certain specific connections, and passengers may change or cancel tickets at no cost.
Service disruptions: Metrovalencia
The Metrovalencia service has not experienced any major problems at its stations or with its infrastructure, but it has reduced its frequency as a precautionary measure.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has modified its operating hours and implemented a partial reduction in service frequency, operating on a schedule similar to that of a Saturday. The goal is to maintain basic, safe, and manageable transportation exclusively for essential workers.
