Since 2023, Valencia has had its first inland beach to receive the Blue Flag distinction, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac). Playamonte, located in Navarrés, is one of the best aquatic areas in the Valencian Community for this summer thanks to the quality of its waters, its facilities, and its fine-grained sand.
This small body of water, surrounded by a pine grove, is located in a protected natural area and offers better amenities than many beaches along the Valencian coast. The site provides everything needed for family tourism: a swimming and picnic area, a café, a restaurant, rural guesthouses, and a playground.
Admission is charged only in July and August
During the swimming season, visitors can enjoy its clean, cool waters, with lifeguard supervision from July 1 to August 31.
This area was restored in 1970, and its waters come from a spring near the town of Navarrés. The original fine-grained sand has been renewed over time and through continued use of the area, though it retains an outstanding quality that has earned it this award.
Regarding access, ticket sales are available only during July and August (the rest of the year, access is free). The rates are as follows:
- General admission: €5
- Reduced admission: €3 (seniors over 65, retirees, people with disabilities, and Carnet Jove cardholders)
- Children under 5: free (must purchase a ticket due to capacity limits)
The maximum capacity is 800 people per day: 700 tickets are sold in advance online and 100 are reserved for on-site ticket sales. Tickets not sold online are added to the on-site sales. No refunds or date changes will be made for reasons attributable to the purchaser, nor due to inclement weather.
Among the site’s rules, it is not permitted to light fires, discard cigarette butts, camp, fish, or bring dogs off-leash or allow pets to swim.
To reach Playamonte, head toward the towns of Navarrés or Bolbaite. Access is signposted at the roundabout at the entrance to the town from the CV-580, with signage along the three-kilometer stretch from Navarrés and designated parking areas.
In the surrounding area, you can also hike the Anna Waterfalls Trail, visit the small “Valencian Alhambra,” and cool off in some of the best natural pools in the Valencian Community.
