Literature lovers, here comes one of the most awaited moments of the year: the Plaça del llibre, a festival dedicated to books and culture in Valencian .
From October 30 to November 3, the Jardí Botànic will be filled with booths of more than 50 publishing houses that publish originals and translations in Valencian. It is a perfect opportunity to get to know the proposals of the best national and international authors and, all made in la terreta .
In the Plaça del Llibre de València 2024 we will be able to browse through the thousands of books that make up the catalog of publishers such as Jo Llibre, Sembra or Llibres de la Drassana, apart from university publishers, which will also be present.
In total, more than 50 activities are scheduled, including talks, discussions, book presentations and workshops of all kinds. In addition, this year, coinciding with the centenary of the birth of the Valencian poet Vicent Andrés Estellés, there will also be various tributes and talks about the work and life of this writer.
The starting shot of the festival will be, as every year, the presentation and delivery of the Plaça del Llibre Awards. This year, the winners will be the poet and librarian Ramon Guillem, awarded for his Literary Career, the publisher Dolors Pedrós, for her Publishing Career and, finally, the Andrés Lorente Anyó family for the Dissemination of Valencian Culture.
The book presentations will be the other great protagonists of this great festival of Valencian culture, highlighting, among all of them, “Mort i pam. Antologia poètica de Estellés” by Vicent Berenguer and Carmina Andrés, and “Anatomia patològica” by Vicent Borràs, by the author and Marc Senabre.
In addition, it is also worth mentioning some activities such as the live recording of the podcast “Gent Rándom” where they will talk with the author Laia Viñas, winner of the Premi Documenta 2020 and who has recently published her second novel, and the Pódcast Ruta literària d’Albufera, organized by the Full foundation.
