Valencia will build 3 temporary parking lots in open spaces in Benimàmet, Soternes and Benicalap. The Local Government Board approved last Friday the proposal of the Mobility Service to award the works of adequacy of three lots in these neighborhoods of Valencia until its final use is defined in accordance with the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU).
These 3 parking lots are located between Crisóstomo Martínez street and the Secanet path (in the neighborhood of Benimàmet, Pobles de l’Oest district); between Archena, Alcàsser and Arquitecto Ribes streets (in the neighborhood of Soternes, in l’Olivereta); and between Avenida del Ecuador, and the streets of Periodista Gil Sumbiela and Las Acacias (in the neighborhood of Benicalap, Pobles de l’Oest).
The spokesman of the municipal government, Councilman Juan Carlos Caballero, reported on Friday the award of the project to the company Grupo Bertolín SAU, which will enable the three parking spaces for just over 400,000 euros to be divided between the 3 lots.
All the parking spaces will be paved and signposted, adapting the access and exit, with the relevant water channeling measures to avoid the formation of puddles in case of rain.
The 3 plots total 300 parking spaces and 7,500m2. The Benicalap site has a total of 149 parking spaces (5 of them for people with reduced mobility, PRM) and will be ready in approximately 70 days.
The Benimàmet site will house 92 vehicles (3 of them PRM) and will be ready in 60 days.
The space reserved in the Soternes neighborhood will have capacity for 59 spaces (2 of them PRM) and will be ready, as planned, within 35 days.
