The Valencian Regional Government has opened a second call for emergency rental assistance for those affected by the October 2024 storm, with a budget of 7 million euros and up to 800 euros per month.
The measure has two parts: the more than 1,400 families who already received assistance in the first phase may apply for an extension for one more year, and those who did not apply at the time may do so now for the first time.
Who is eligible to apply and under what conditions
Individuals (homeowners or renters) whose primary residence is located in one of the municipalities affected by the storm and where the damage sustained prevents safe access to or use of the property are eligible for this aid.
It is also required that the beneficiary not own another habitable residence within a 30-kilometer radius.
The subsidy covers up to 12 months of rent, with a maximum of 800 euros per month per household, or the amount specified in the lease if lower. The amount also includes the rent for garages and storage units associated with the residence.
How and where to submit the application
Applications can be submitted in two ways:
- Online, through the Generalitat’s electronic portal.
- In person, at the registry of the Territorial Housing Service of the province of Valencia or at the designated locations.
The application period will remain open until September 30, 2026, and the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Regional Government (DOGV).
More than a hundred municipalities included
The list of eligible municipalities includes more than a hundred towns in the province of Valencia, includingPaiporta, Catarroja, Aldaia, Alfafar, Massanassa, Benetússer, Sedaví, Torrent, Picanya, Chiva, Algemesí, Alzira, and Cullera, among many others, as well as the districts south of the city of Valencia.
