The Valencia City Council will not grant permits to set up mojito stands during the 2027 Fallas. The decision, which aims to address public order issues, was announced by Fallas Councilor Santiago Ballester during the Assembly of Fallas Commission Presidents this week.
The president of the Fallas Central Board (JCF) justified the measure due to the “problems they cause and their impact on the image of the Fallas and the Fallas committees.”
At the same meeting, he announced that the mascletà that was suspended in March will be held at night on May 2 at 9:00 p.m. in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Updates for the 2027 Fallas
During his review of the 2026 festivities, Ballester revealed some key dates for the 2027 program. The setup of tents on public streets will generally begin on March 11.
In addition, he confirmed that the days authorized for holding open-air dances with live music will be March 13 and March 15 through 18.
The JCF has also initiated a process to improve large-scale events such as the Ofrenda, in which 123,578 people—including Fallas participants and musicians—took part this year, and the collection of ninots, with the aim of optimizing their execution.
