Going to the movies in Valencia does not have to be expensive, and this weekend, for the little ones, it can even be free. The Filmoteca Valenciana, located in the Rialto building in the Town Hall Square and famous for its general admission at only 2.50 euros throughout the year, offers a special date for children on November 8 and 9.
At 6:00 pm, the hall will screen a selection of 11 animated short films for all audiences with free admission for children under 14.
The session is part of the monthly cycle Menuda Filmo and includes works from the FAN(Fantastic Animation Network) program, one of the proposals of the recent international festival Prime the Animation!, organized by the Master of Animation of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
The program brings together the emerging talent of young creators of European independent animation, with pieces from France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, including titles such as Echoes (France, 2024), Per tutta la vita (Italy, 2018) and the Spanish shorts Big Box (2021), Alike (2015) and Papirola (2022).
Where to buy tickets for the Filmoteca de Valencia.

Admission to these Menuda Filmo screenings is free for children under 14, although tickets are required. Each person can withdraw a maximum of six tickets, which can be purchased in advance at the IVC’s online ticket office or the same day of the session at the physical box office, from half an hour before the start.
As usual, the prices of the Filmoteca are already cheap: this 2025 maintains the general admission at 2.50 euros from Tuesday to Sunday.
In addition, there are 10-film subscriptions that reduce the cost to 2 euros per session, and reduced rates of 1.50 euros for children under 30 or retirees.
Its annual program focuses mainly on European and international cinema, recent releases, documentaries and thematic cycles.
