Valencia already has a colorful landscape with more than 90 crosses spread throughout the streets of the city. The traditional May Crosses have returned to fill from this past weekend the neighborhoods of the city, with a total of 96 floral structures.
Cultural associations, falleras commissions, parishes and various neighborhood organizations, as part of the contest organized by Lo Rat Penat in collaboration with the City of Valencia, have created these crosses from natural plants such as fresh and dried flowers, herbs, stones, water games and light, divided into different categories according to their complexity and budget.
In the 2025 edition, the Falla Plaza de la Cruz-Los Ángeles has won the first prize in the Special Section.
The Special Section brings together the most elaborate proposals, including those submitted by entities such as the Agrupación de Fallas del Carmen, the Centro de Formación Folgado, or the Asociación Cruces de Mayo de La Torre.
For the second consecutive year, the Creu de Maig has again been installed by the City Council at its main entrance. It has been made with native Valencian branches.
Its base is covered with murta, the skirt of eucalyptus, and the structure is decorated with dried flowers, white and pink paniculata, orchids and limonium.
Until when can we see the May Crosses 2025?
The crosses will remain exposed in the streets of Valencia for several days, until the flower begins to wither and the entities in charge proceed to its withdrawal. Similar to what happens with the mantle of the Virgin after the Offering.
