The city of Manises will celebrate this weekend the International Ceramics Festival, an event declared of Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community that will bring together Valencian and international professionals.
On the weekend of July 13 and 14, the International Ceramics Festival will be held with activities scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Blasco Ibáñez Avenue.
The already recognized as a UNESCO creative city in the category of handicrafts and popular arts will provide first-hand knowledge of techniques such as modeling, socarrat, raku, potter’s wheel, stamping, trencadís, jewelry, clay sculpture and metallic Reflection ceramics. In addition, there will be a part dedicated to the sale of handmade ceramic pieces.
On Saturday, July 13, the aioli contest will be held at 8 p.m., at the end of Blasco Ibáñez Avenue, and on Sunday, July 14, at 7 p.m., the traditional lathe contest will take place next to the intersection with Paseo Guillermo de Osma.
Among the participants of the International Ceramics Festival are Aliarte, Taulellet, Cerámicas Viqui Rodríguez, Francisco Mas Tortosa, Arturo Mora, Pepe Royo, Rafa Mora, ANPEC, Amics del Museu de Ceràmica de Manises, La Botiga de Gema, Nacho Suministros Cerámicos, Raku, Educart, Antonio Cordero Herrera, Antonia Balastegui, European project ThisPlaced, Drac Ceramic, Escuela de Cerámica de Manises, Francisco Álvarez, Flores Cerámica, Mimbre Cerámico, Ceràmica dels Papes, Centro Ocupacional Francisco Navarro, Porcelanas Mercedes, Encisar-te, La Clavaría Santas Justa y Rufina and Trazzyu.
Another of the events scheduled for this festival is the Ceramics Parade, which will be held 4 days later with the free distribution of handmade pieces. Declared of Tourist Interest of the Comunitat Valenciana, this parade will take place on Thursday, July 18, at 7 pm.
During the event, members of La Clavaria Santas Justa and Rufina will parade on floats, presenting the public with local handicrafts, from Molí de la Llum street through Masia de la Cova street and Blasco Ibáñez avenue.
