Los Abetos, a bar in Torrent, about 20 minutes from Valencia, is the best place to have lunch in 2025, according to the Cacau d’Or 2025 awards. The current edition of the contest, organized by Amstel and the La Cultura del Almuerzo collective, has recognized this establishment with the Amstel 2025 Special Award.
Los Abetos has received 1,000 euros in products of the brand and 3,000 euros to renovate the decoration of its establishment, in addition to the award that places it as one of the best places to have lunch in the Valencian Community.
His gastronomic proposal, a sandwich called “El cestón”, also won the prize of the “Tornar Fuerzabar” route, promoted by Heineken to support the Valencian hotel and catering industry after the dana, among a total of 180 proposals.
The recipe, a sandwich of chicken breast marinated with herbs, potatoes, avocado and secret sauce that has valued a jury formed by Juanjo Rausell, president of the Guild of Bakers and Confectioners of Valencia; Ana Torres (Dones esmorzadores); Paco Alonso (journalist); Pablo Margós, executive chef of the Trinquet Pelayo; and Manuel Latorre, commercial manager of Heineken.
The popularity of Los Abetos: raffles worth thousands of euros
The peculiarity of this bar, which has made it famous this last year, is that for having lunch here you can participate in one of the craziest raffles ever seen in Valencia.
This 2025 they have launched a raffle with more than 50 prizes: cars like a Porsche Macan, a BMW motorcycle, an apartment in Oropesa with storage room and garage or gold bars worth 60,000 euros.
All with taxes paid so that the Treasury is not a problem when it comes to collecting the prize.
The restaurant sells the tickets on the premises and directly on a website until December 22, 2025, the date on which the draw will be held in parallel to the Christmas Lottery.

In the province of Valencia, the Cacau d’Or have awarded Cal Carrero (Patraix), La Nueva Terraza (La Pobla de Vallbona) and Mesón Canela (Campanar).

The Premis Cacau d’Or not only reward the establishments that best embody the tradition of lunch, but also the key figures who promote it. This year, as in the five previous editions, eight Dones Esmorzadores have been honored. These professional women are recognized for their work in valuing and preserving both Valencian customs and the culinary art of esmorzar.
The award winners are Maite Izquierdo Puchol, Inma Sánchez Velasco, Clara Isabel Pérez Herrero, Mª José Lloria, Mercedes Caballero, Paula Varella Montero, Emi López-Inesta and Marina Valdés Valiente.
