This Wednesday marks one year since the fateful day that saw 229 people die in Valencia in the floods caused by the dana. 365 days later, the cinema is redefined as a space for disconnection, remembrance and hope. This is how one could define the initiative of MN4 Cinemas, the Alfafar complex that has just announced a day of totally free cinema this coming Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
This solidarity action, which commemorates the first anniversary of the tragedy, will have an exclusive day for residents of the affected areas included in the Royal Decree.
All sessions during the day will be free of charge, and access will be closed to the rest of the public to ensure that the tribute is entirely for those affected.
MN4 Cinemas recalls in a statement the day when its own facilities became a makeshift shelter for more than 300 people seeking protection from the storm. “We want this day to be a celebration of life, of the strength of the community and of the power of cinema as a space for meeting and shared emotion,” said the management of Cines MN4.
MN4 Cinemas Day: box office access only

To take advantage of this day is to go directly to the box office, as tickets will not be available online or at automatic kiosks, and will be delivered on a first-come, first-served basis.
One ticket per person (or per family member) will be given out. To collect your ticket, you must present your ID card or census certificate proving your residence in one of the areas affected by the dana. Tickets will only be available for the screenings closest to the pick-up time, until full capacity is reached.
MN4 Cinemas, which has had the collaboration of film distributors, is located on the 2nd floor of the Shopping and Leisure Center MN4 (Alfafar). Ticket collection on the 29th will be from 13:30 to 22:40 hours.
