The Ricardo Tormo Circuit is about to look up at the sky like never before. After the Fallas fireworks, we continue to look up at the sky, but only for two nights. The DroneArt Show Valencia is coming: on March 20 and 21, the asphalt will be transformed into an intimate stage and the sky into a canvas. Last tickets here.
The Fallas come to an end on the 15th, but in Valencia we continue to look up for one more weekend. This time there will be no fireworks, but a thousand points of light choreographed to the rhythm of a string quartet, prolonging the celebration from the sky.
After a string of sold-out shows throughout Spain and in other cities around the world, the show lands for the first time in the city of fire with a proposal that is difficult to repeat: 1,000 drones drawing recognizable figures in the air while a string quartet performs classical music live, surrounded by thousands of candles.
Valencia has a historical, almost genetic, relationship with the sky. We are used to looking up to search for the trail of smoke or the roar that precedes the color of fireworks. However, what DroneArt Show Valencia proposes on its first arrival in the city of fire is the opposite: absolute silence broken only by a string quartet surrounded by candles and the mathematical choreography of a thousand points of light.
A dialogue between 5,000 candles, a string quartet, and 1,000 drones

The scene will unfold in an almost mystical setting. The asphalt of the Circuit disappears under the glow of 5,000 candles. In this space of calm, a quartet will guide the rhythm of the night, performing pieces that range from the nature of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to the delicacy of Debussy’s La neige danse .
As classics such as Swan Lake and the frenetic rhythm of The Flight of the Bumblebee play, 1,000 drones will rise to draw a choreography of light over Valencia. The program will also feature the power of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, with each movement of the violin bow echoing in the drones floating above the horizon.
The concert lasts approximately 65 minutes: just over an hour in which music, art, and technology come together to create a show that is as impressive as it is intimate.
The technology behind the scenes

The technical execution is being handled by Nova Sky Stories, the company responsible for the drone show that lit up the Vatican last year. In Valencia, they will bring that same precision to the Circuit environment, using the airspace as an extension of the stage to create a visual effect that does not rely on pyrotechnics, but on the exact choreography of a thousand points of light divided into two fleets of 500.
