
Valencia has returned to live this last dawn one of the coldest nights in recent years. Since January 2021 a temperature of -2.2 °C was not recorded at Manises airport, a value somewhat lower than that recorded in Valencia city with a minimum of 2.8 °C.
The State Meteorological Agency in the Valencian Community has communicated this Wednesday a general summary with the most extreme frosts and temperatures in the Comunitat, which have reached -9.6 ºC and 9.2 ºC in inland areas such as Villena and Ademuz, respectively.
“The night has been cold, with moderate frosts, locally strong in high plateaus and valley bottoms of the interior,” reflects a message from the agency in the social network X.com.
Yellow warning for rain and wind for this Friday, January 17.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has also issued yellow level warnings for the Valencian Community during next Friday, January 17.
Specifically, the north coast of Alicante and the south coast of Valencia will receive heavy rains, with an accumulation of up to 20 mm in one hour and 60 mm in 12 hours, between 00:00 and 11:59 hours. These episodes could be accompanied by storms and, occasionally, small hail, details the weather forecast.
In addition, yellow warnings have been activated for coastal phenomena on the north and south coasts of Castellón, as well as on the north coast of Valencia, where the northeasterly wind will reach speeds of 50 to 60 km / h. (force 7), generating waves of up to 3 meters between 00:00 and 19:59 hours.
As usual when these phenomena occur, extreme caution is recommended in the affected areas.
Snow returns to the interior of the Comunitat de Valencia
From noon on Thursday, the atmospheric instability advanced by AEMET may bring snowfall in the coastal mountain ranges of these areas of Valencia and Alicante under yellow warning, where precipitation is expected. The snow level will be around 900-1100 m, without ruling out that in the north of Alicante may locally drop to 600-700 m in the second half of Thursday.
