In l’Horta Nord, inside a sports complex bearing the same name, is the Bergamonte restaurant, a new temple for devotees of Valencian lunch. This hut, awarded with a Solete from the Repsol Guide, keeps an open secret that every Friday brings together dozens of diners around its charcoal barbecue in free buffet format.
The Friday proposal, unveiled by @gastrovaig in a video recently, has a closed price of 17 euros. From 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning, the embers of Bergamonte are lit to serve the best butchery and that you mount your lunch first.
You can have sausage, blood sausage, chorizo, chicken thighs, bacon and pork face, all freshly cooked over the fire, as many times as you want.
But a good esmorzaret does not live only on meat. The price of 17 euros includes everything for a complete experience: the feast of food, accompanied by trays of patatas a lo pobre, Valencian ratatouille and a tomato salad. And there is no lack of bread, the expense of “cacaos del collaret”, allioli, a drink and coffee to close.
Daily lunches and author’s sandwiches
Although the barbecue is only on Fridays, in the same video the influencer @gastrovaig also details that they serve lunches from Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 12:00 hours from 9.50 euros for the “half lunch” and reaches 12.50 euros for the “whole”. Both options include salad, cocoa, toasted bread with allioli, drink and coffee.
Their lunch is as famous as the bread that accompanies it, from a Valencian oven that is made exclusively for them. They even have a name: “pan Mauri” and “pan Críquet”.
You will find it in Avda. del Mar, 25, in La Pobla de Farnals, 25 minutes north of Valencia.
