With the aim of preventing high speeds on roads where in most sections cannot exceed 50km/h, the Local Police and the Mobility area of Valencia have decided to place 6 new fixed speed cameras and two cinemometers, a type of radar that uses beam or laser waves to measure speed and that can change location, on six streets of Valencia.
The streets they have chosen present a major focus of accidents, given that many drivers reach higher speeds than those allowed.
The councilman of Citizen Safety and Mobility, Jesus Carbonell, explains that this is not a measure with a collection purpose, but a deterrent, and believe that this will prevent accidents and accidents.
The radars have already been purchased for a price of €247,047.80 and are expected to be installed within the next three months.
These are the streets where the new radars will be installed:
- Avenida de los Hermanos Machado at the intersection with Vicente Canet (entry direction)
- Avenida de Antonio Ferrandis at the intersection with Pou Aparisi
- Camí Nou de Picanya at the height of No. 49
- Avenida de Fernando Abril Martorell with Malilla
