Until January 31, 2025, all users of public transport in the Valencian Community will be able to enjoy a greater discount on the usual fares for transport tickets and season tickets. In a communiqué, the Generalitat Valenciana has announced that it will extend the aid under “the same conditions” in force until now in the regional public transport system.
With the exception of round-trip and single tickets, the 50% discount announced by the Generalitat in 2023 is now extended until January 31 on SUMA, Alicante TAM Zone, Castelló TRAM, TRAM d’Alacant, Metrobus and Metrovalencia tickets.
With this proposal, the Generalitat is awaiting the extension of central government aid, which allows for the co-financing of public transport aid initiated at the end of 2022 due to the impact of the Ukrainian war and inflation on the national economy.
This is the financing of a 30% discount for urban and interurban transport in those autonomous communities and local administrations that apply an additional 20%, up to a total discount of 50%.

This Wednesday, June 19, the Valencia City Council has confirmed that EMT will also finance discounts and free public transportation until the end of 2024.
Free public transport for young people until December 2024
Unlike the season tickets, public transport for children under 31 years of age will remain free of charge until December 31, 2024. Young people who benefit from the free fare must renew their ticket at the automatic ticket vending machines of Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant and at the Customer Service Office in Castelló.
The extension of the measure for 6 more months which expired this June 30, has been announced this June 18, 2024, by the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón.
