Residents of Orriols have been calling for this for years: a direct bus route to La Fe Hospital without the need to transfer. Starting in November, that connection will become a reality. The EMT will launch the new Line 58, which will connect the Orriols neighborhood with Turianova, passing through the La Fe hospital complex.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 22, during the closing ceremony of European Mobility Week. The new line is part of a broader reorganization: the current Line 8 will extend its route to Orriols and, from the city center, will take over the route currently served by Line 11 to that area. The resulting section will be designated Line 58.
This change is particularly significant for residents of this area, as the designated hospital for most residents of this district—located at the northernmost edge of the city—is La Fe, situated on the southern edge of Valencia. Furthermore, passengers from Turianova and the Malilla area will be able to continue their journey to the northern part of the city without having to transfer in the city center.
This measure is part of the EMT’s Master Plan, a project that the municipal company is implementing progressively and that includes network adjustments, new infrastructure, and a medium-term vision that takes into account Valencia’s socioeconomic development, new technologies, and the public’s actual mobility needs.
