The Humana Foundation opened a new secondhand fashion store this Friday in the Ruzafa neighborhood, at 48 Sueca Street.
The store marks the nonprofit organization’s return to Valencia, where it operated two locations until they closed during the COVID-19 pandemic six years ago.
Humana reopens in Ruzafa with its “Vintage” line, focused on higher-quality secondhand clothing from well-known brands.
With this opening, Humana brings the total number of its own stores in Spain to 59, consolidating its position as the sector’s leading operator by customer volume in the country.
Valencia, Spain’s third-largest secondhand fashion market
The choice of city is no coincidence. Valencia ranks third in the national ranking of secondhand fashion offerings, behind only Madrid and Barcelona, according to data from the foundation itself.
Ruzafa, known for its alternative commercial profile and high density of neighborhood shops, concentrates a significant portion of that local demand with vintage and secondhand stores.
A return shaped by the pandemic
The organization had maintained its presence in Valencia until the economic effects of the 2020 health crisis forced the closure of its two stores in the city.
The new store resumes operations with a single location for now, on one of the neighborhood’s busiest pedestrian streets.
