The Virgin of the Forsaken, known as the Geperudeta, is now displaying her new red and yellow mantle featuring the figures of a woman and a child, following the completion of the Offering last Wednesday, March 18.
Starting this Thursday, March 19, the new mantle created by Valencian illustrator and graphic designer Xenia Magraner can be viewed in its entirety. It depicts “the suffering and resistance of the people in the face of war and violence” through two silhouettes holding hands.
And now the big question is: how long will it be on display? Although many would like the mantle to remain there indefinitely, the optimal display time will be 72 hours.
It is recommended to visit as soon as possible, ideally before next Monday, March 23.
The city council will not announce until after the Cremà whether it will remain on display for additional days, provided that weather conditions and its state of preservation allow it.
In 2025, the city council extended its display until March 24.
