With the arrival of summer and the increase of visitors to the Valencian coast, many bathers are still surprised when they find a red flag when they reach the beach.
As has been usual in recent years, from June 1 until September 15, the City of Valencia offers a daily updated service that reports on sea conditions and safety on the main beaches of the city.
How to check the state of the beaches in Valencia

This service can be consulted online and is part of the control program of bathing areas. The page indicates the water conditions, the state of the beaches and recommendations for bathers.
During the lifeguard and lifeguard season, the watchtowers located on the beach display colored flags to inform users:
- Green flag: bathing allowed normally.
- Yellow flag: caution when bathing.
- Red flag: bathing prohibited due to danger.
It is important to note that the absence of a flag indicates a lack of sanitary coverage and surveillance, so bathing is not recommended under these conditions.
In addition, the information panels located at the accesses to the beach offer updated schedules of the bathing season, as well as possible extensions or modifications.
