The green, yellow and red flags of the beaches of Valencia have black symbols in the center since this summer. This novelty, which may have surprised more than one bather, has recently been clarified by the City Council of Valencia itself in social networks.
The flags incorporate in the center a geometric symbol intended for those people with daltonism or color perception disorder, to help them identify under what conditions they can bathe on the beach.
This initiative is known as the “Color ADD” code, which links a graphic with a certain color to facilitate quick identification. According to this technique, this is the universal color identification that is applied in situations such as flag colors or others where color identification is of extreme importance.
